Are you trying to learn how to use ClickFunnels with affiliate marketing?

Every affiliate marketer wants to be successful. Many seek out the next “secret” to success hoping it will be what they’re looking for.

It’s easy for affiliate marketers, or any online marketer, to fall into the trap of shiny object syndrome, buying many courses and tools thinking each one is the key to success.

Yet, all that’s needed is a ClickFunnels account and a knowledge of how to use it for affiliate marketing.

ClickFunnels is a very useful tool for affiliate marketers and makes it much easier to create campaigns for the offers you promote.

In this article, I will explain exactly how to build a campaign from scratch in ClickFunnels for affiliate marketing to start making money as an affiliate.

How ClickFunnels Works

To make money as an affiliate, you need to understand the concept behind how ClickFunnels works.

Creating an Opt-in Page

First, what you need to do is get traffic and send it to what’s called an opt-in page or a lead magnet page. This traffic can come from anywhere: Facebook, YouTube, Google, Email, many different places.

You send this traffic to an opt-in page where you capture the email address. We don’t want to send them directly to an affiliate offer.

We want to capture an email address because any affiliate marketer worth their salt will tell you the most important thing in affiliate marketing is to have a list of email addresses that you can email future affiliate offers to.

Maybe only one or two people out of a 100 will buy the affiliate offer you are promoting.

You want to be able to capture the email addresses so you can sell other offers down the road that might be more relevant to those who declined your initial affiliate offer.

So in creating the opt-in page, you give them something for free in exchange for their email address. You strike a deal with them, exchanging a lead magnet for their email address so you can email them as long as you want. Examples of lead magnets might be a free ebook, a free case study, free templates, etc.

Creating a Bridge Page

After you send them to an opt-in page, you will send them to a second page which is a pre-frame page.

The pre-frame page, or a bridge page, is where you explain what they’re going to find on the offer page.

This is usually done by a video of yourself explaining the offer.

So we don’t want to capture the email in the opt-in page and immediately send them to some random person’s offer who they don’t know or haven’t heard of.

Most people just won’t go for that. You haven’t built enough trust to make the sale.

So you use a bridge page to bridge the gap between capturing their email and introducing them to the person with the offer or the creator of the offer.

You pre-frame them and explain exactly what to do. You could say “click the button below and when you do it will take you to a page with a product that can do XYZ. it can take what I just gave you for free and just explode it and make it a million times better and help you meet all these goals that you have.”

And then you can say “click the link below to go to the next page.” That button will take them to your affiliate link.

And that is an affiliate funnel.

Building the Affiliate Funnel

So the steps to building an affiliate funnel are pretty simple. Here they are:

  1. Create a lead capture or opt-in page to collect email addresses
  2. Create a bridge page to introduce them to the affiliate offer
  3. Once they click the button on the bridge page, they are taken to your affiliate offer

Setting things up this way will help you see much, much better conversations with your affiliate offer because you’ve been able to get them mentally prepared for this random offer that no longer feels random.

Building a Funnel

In order to make ClickFunnels for affiliate marketing work, you need a ClickFunnels account. To be in affiliate for ClickFunnels you do not need an account for the software but to use the software you need an account.

So jumping into ClickFunnels, we’re going to build a funnel to capture leads and use a bridge page to sell an affiliate offer.

The first thing you’re going to do is click on the funnel builder cookbook. This is a book of templates that are very useful and saves you a lot of time.

Rather than starting from scratch and trying to do it without any experience, you can build a funnel quickly.

Lead capture page

So you can choose a lead magnet funnel template and it will download that funnel template into your account.

Now you have something that you can use to get started right away.

Once you have the funnel in your account you can edit each page. So you can edit the lead funnel Page. You do this by using the drag and drop feature in ClickFunnels. You can add pictures, headlines, text, logos, etc.

If you’ve never used ClickFunnels you can go to buildapreneur.com/free. There’s a free course that can give you a breakdown of how to use everything inside of ClickFunnels.

In order to use the lead funnel, you need a lead magnet, something where you give them something of value in exchange for their email address.

You want to choose a lead magnet that relates to the affiliate offer. Having something random that doesn’t connect will hurt your sales. So make sure what you are giving away relates to the affiliate offer you are presenting.

For example, let’s say you are an affiliate for an affiliate marketing course that sells for $997. So if you’re promoting this course, it means your lead magnet needs to be related to this offer. You could then create a lead magnet of “10 affiliate marketing examples that made at least 25k, get free access now to all 10 campaigns delivered to your inbox instantly”, for example.

Then you can go and create this lead magnet to offer people in exchange for their email address. The important part of this is it relates to the affiliate marketing course that you’re offering.

Then you can have a pop-up where they add their email address and click next which takes them to the next page of the funnel automatically.

Click save and exit.

Bridge page

The second page of the funnel is where you frame them to send them to an affiliate link. This is called the bridge page bridging your lead magnet to the affiliate offer.

In order to edit your bridge page, It’s always better if you just do a video.

Above the video, you can say something like “don’t leave until you watch this 3-minute video” or something to that effect. Choose something that will hook them into watching the video.

A video works best because you were already on the first page, the lead capture page. So it makes sense for them to see you on the bridge page.

So what do you say in the video?

The video is where you will pre-frame them to what they will be seeing when they click the button, where you can explain the affiliate offer.

By pre-framing them, you eliminate the confusion of why they are seeing someone else’s sales page. By doing that you can make more sales.

Then you can add a button on the bridge page below the video that when they click it it will take them to the offer you are promoting through your affiliate link.

Clicking on the button in ClickFunnels will open up options where you can put in your URL affiliate link.

Conclusion

Now you have a lead capture funnel set up with a bridge page for affiliate marketing.

This is how you use ClickFunnels for affiliate marketing.

You may lose some people on the bridge page who won’t click the button with your affiliate link. But you got 50 or 100 or 200 email addresses that you can now market to through email.

So it comes down to sending them to a page to capture their email address. Then you send them to a page preparing them for an affiliate link or an affiliate offer. And lastly, you send them through that affiliate link to that offer.
